When it comes to selling your home, or just enjoying your home, we can’t state enough how important maintaining the exterior is. The outside of your home is the first thing potential buyers see, and it can greatly impact anyone’s first impression of your property. Including your own.
We put together a handy 5-step to-do list to help you whip through the task of late summer landscaping. This will make your Fall Clean up a breeze and keep your home looking spiffy for when you’re ready to sell too.
First, add mulch to flowerbeds. Adding a layer of mulch to your flowerbeds can significantly improve water retention, helping prevent dehydration in your plants.
Second, deadhead flowers. Deadheading flowers is crucial for promoting healthy growth and maintaining a neat appearance, and it doesn’t involve much effort either.
Third, get rid of pests. Pests can wreak havoc on your plants, so use organic solutions and pesticides to eliminate grubs and other lawn pests.
Fourth, Water Correctly. Your grass should get an inch of water every week. So water during early morning or late evening. Or, if you can, use drip irrigation to avoid water evaporation.
Fifth, Mow Properly. Mow your lawn higher right now, and use sharp lawn blades as they don’t leave dead ends that can consume nutrients from the soil. ***Don’t mow when the grass is wet, only when it’s dry***
These outdoor tips don’t cost much but will increase your home's curb appeal, which is proven to help sell your property faster and for a better price.
